세계수학자대회(ICM)

  • ICM은 국제수학연맹이 4년마다 개최하는 세계 최대 수학학술대회
  • 개막식에서 개최국 국가원수가 '수학의 노벨상'으로 불리는 필즈상(Fields Medal)을 수여
  • 제1회 ICM은 1897년 개최되었다.
  • 1919년 국제수학연맹(IMU)이 창설됨에 따라 개최 주체가 분명해졌다.
