Dirac equation

• In 1927, Dirac adopted new equation for relativistic Schrodinger equation to remove negative energy states.
• \((-i\gamma^\mu\partial_\mu + m) \psi = 0\)
• Initially, \(\psi\) was understood as a wavefunction but this interpretation gives something wrong like negative probability.
• Regard the spinor \(\psi\) as a field such that \(|\psi|^2\) gives a measure of the number of particles at a particular point
• relativistic modification of Pauli equation
• 양자전기역학에서 디락 방정식은 더 이상 상대론적 파동 방정식으로 해석되지 않는다
• 파동방정식은 (양자화된) 입자 하나의 파동함수를 기술하는 방정식이지만, 양자장론에서는 고정되지 않은 수의 입자들이 진공에서 생성/소멸되는 프로세스를 생각해야 하므로 디락 방정식은 스핀값이 1/2인 입자에 해당하는 장의 방정식으로 보아야한다
• 디락 라그랑지안에 포함된 동역학 변수를 (이미 양자화된) 파동함수로 보는 것이 아니라 전자기장과 같은 고전적인 장으로 보고 양자화를 한다.
• 2차 양자화 (2nd quantization)와 같은 용어는 혼동에서 비롯된 것으로, 실제 양자화는 한 번에 그치는 것이다
